Dan is a legend, nice to see someone give these corporate idiots a kick up the behind.I wont be buying from creative again, ive had all my soundcards from them in the past including live, extigy, audigy.So what if the extigy is old its was not cheap at the time and even today its spec is still more then enough for most audio projects.Creative are lazy guits for not supply I high demand driver, of course they just wanna rip you off and squeeze more cash outta ya, but for me, id rather eat my own feces then buy another product from creative.

what they really need is a support forum so they can come clean - give us all a straight answer. Fortunatley in the computer world, a bad answer is quickly followed by the uncertainty as to whether it's true or not.

Anyway, back to the subject... The most effective thing to do is to setup a place on your hard drive where you can dump a fresh installation of the drivers. Just install (or backup) and then open the driver cd for installation. The setup file will then make a backup of everything it finds to a folder on your hard drive....

Yes, it's a little more work, but it's the best way of doing things... The risk is that if you use certain settings or options that it trobleshoots then you'll have to go back through the setup and change things - so you can do it the easy way or the hard way, but you will always have to go through the setup phase.... d2c66b5586
